I
have a Bachelors in Mathematics from the
University
of Guanajuato,
with a minor in Computer Science and Physics.
Most of the courses I took were in Basic Mathematics, such as Logic and
Sets, Set Theory, Analysis, Complex Variable and Differential Topology.
Some other courses I took range from Modern Algebra and Modern Geometry
to Calculus, Linear Algebra and Game Theory.
In my Physics minor I took classes in Waves, Newtonian Mechanic,
Thermodynamics and Relativity, while in Computer Science I had Design
of Web Applications, Data Bases, Data Structures, Numerical Methods and
Optimization.
My thesis was in Game Theory, with the title "Modelos y
métodos para realizar particiones justas" (
Models
and methods to achieve Fair Division). And as its name
implies, is in the field of Fair division. The main result is concerned
with the division of an arbitrary set among a finite set of agents.
The main Theorem says that if certain regularity conditions hold, then
there is a (constructed) maximal (Pareto optimal) division of the set
into
N
subsets, all with the same measure.
Cool!, If people are willing to state their preferences, then we can
cut the cake in a fair way. ;)
