My current research interests are Evolutionary Algorithms, and
Algorithm Optimization.
I enjoy using Mathematical techniques applied to programming for
optimization. Also, Evolutionary Algorithms used on biological models
and biological models that inspire Evolutionary Algorithms.
It seems paradoxical, but Evolutionary Algorithms are not always really
biologically accurate models, and many oversimplifications are used in
problem solving. The converse is also true, as many biological models
usually do not take into account good programming techniques.
On top of that, there is little or no formal foundation to several
Evolutionary Algorithms used, and just a handful of researchers have
taken the enterprise of analyzing such intuitive algorithms in a formal
way.
It is my belief that models in both, Computer Science and Evolutionary
Biology can be boosted with strong cooperation among them.
I consider myself fortunate since I have the opportunity to work
precisely in this attempt. So far, I am pursuing a couple of good
ideas.
