School/Work

Visit the CS Department's homepage.

Once, in the distant past, when life was less complicated, I was one of the Wizards at UT.

I received my bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Villanova University in May of 1991. I received my master's degree in Computer Science from the Univeristy of Tennessee, Knoxville in August 1994.

At one point, I worked as a Unix Systems Administrator for Stibo Datagraphics,. I've also worked for Motorola (twice) and its spinoff Freescale Semiconductor.

I cut my teeth on Sun 3/60's and Sparc 1's running SunOS 4.1 and a Sun386i running SunOS 4.0.1 and their contemporary servers and have admined most Solaris/SunOS releases and hardware since then. I have admined many other flavors of UNIX in the past, and installed the occasional Linux, FreeBSD, or OpenBSD box. I make heavy use of Open Source Software such as the GNU Project's gcc compiler and gdb debugger.
