Subject: grading labs/assignments

a grading-stuff reminder:

there is a link off of the web-page regarding assignment due dates, grading
policies, etc. Read it.

the labs will frequently specify that you use a particular filename, in a
particular directory, etc. these are not suggestions; they are used for
grading purposes...whatever is in those files will be graded and whatever is
not, will not. This should be obvious.

when you e-mail me that your lab is ready for grading, then you are SUBMITTING
your work just as if you had handed me a hand-written manuscript. This should,
also, be obvious.

If i choose to grade your work 30 seconds later, then i will feel justified
in doing so; this is, possibly, particularly relevant when the labs instruct
you to do something with a web-page...editing a web-page after submission
could lead to unpleasant results! Other considerations should be file
protection values, etc.

Finally, as was stated in class, the lab-submission link is simply
verification that i received your email; it is *no* indication whatsoever
that i have graded your work. You will know that i have finished grading
you lab when i send you email on that subject.

this message is not to discourage anyone from questioning me about their
grades, (for example, i tried to validate one student's INDEX.HmTL file! :) ),
but replies to grading-policy questions will no doubt refer to a web-page link,
or to this message.

if anyone has any questions about the above, please ask me soon!
