A New Beginning

Well, I've left my comfortable job in bioinformatics to pursue a risky, not-so-comfortable career (at least not to start with) in professional writing. This has put me in something of a weird situation as far as my blog is concerned. The words of a writer are his livelihood, and blogging amounts to, well, giving away the goods for free. Perhaps I should view it instead as providing free samples of my wares. Regardless, I stand at a fork in the metaphorical path of my blog. I can go whole hog, dive into it, and provide entertaining little stories... or I can keep to the banal, talk about what I'm doing, what movies I saw, what books I read, what tennis matches I watched. I haven't yet decided which route I'll go... The interesting but time-consuming, or the swift and boring. Time will tell.
