We consider the design, implementation and utilization of a heterogeneous
computational network augmented with adaptive computing system (ACS) hardware.
A collection of personal computers, each with FPGA boards, supports
ACS algorithm development, synthesis and evaluation.
High-end servers provide secondary storage and enable the use of
unix-based CAD tools.
A high-speed switch speeds communication.
This collection of equipment forms the grid service cluster (GSC) for
machine design in the scalable intracampus research grid (SInRG) project.
About SInRG:
The Principal Investigator for the overall SInRG project is Jack Dongarra.
Other SInRG GSCs support a variety of related research activities.
These include medical imaging, molecular design and computational
ecology, as well as netsolve,
the requisite middleware access and development toolkit.
See the SInRG page for additional details.
