The Stats Class is responsible for analyzing an existing OldRaster
object (see Section 4.1.8) and reporting various
statistics about its associated map (Section 3.3.4). These
statistics are stored in two forms: A SAS-formatted [30] text
file and a special format for XGraph.
The graphics file is actually many smaller
graph files in one, with each graph file having each line preceded by
a unique keyword. This way the GUI is able to scan a single file and
create a menu of graphs to be displayed on the GRASS monitor.
