The distributed version of LUCAS, Parallel LUCAS or pLUCAS, is derived
from the existing serial version. Modifications were required to
integrate the Parallel Virtual Machine
(PVM) software environment [22] for
distributing information across a network of workstations. Measures
were also taken to manage the tasks on independent machines and
collect results from the hosts comprising the virtual machine.
