How to Interpret Results

Name of the student

The first part of the first line of the result is the name of the student whose resume was found in the search. In some rare cases, instead of a name there will be a URL. This means that we don't have the name of the student. But the URL will point to the same resume page.

However, this link points to the actual resume page of student. As resumes are likely to be changed frequently, you might not find the word that you were looking for. That's because indexing might have been done a while ago and the page has been chaged in the meantime.

Cached

The link on the second line is a cached link. If you click on this link, you will see the contents of the web page as of the time we indexed it. For resumes with fast-changing content ,the current contents of a web page may not be a good match for your query. The cached content is the content Resume Search used to judge whether this page is a good match for your query.

If for some reason, the site link does not connect you to the current page, you can still retrieve the cached version and may find the information.

Last modified

The last Modified information tells you when the auther of the resu me has modified it last before we had indexed it. This information is really helpful when you use the cahed version instead of the current version. This date tells you how old the cached version is.

Current status of the student

This information tells you whether the student is in graduate level or undergraduate level or has been graduated or has some other status.

Order of the results

The list of resumes are ordered by number of term occurences in the document. If you enter the terms 'c++' , 'perl' and 'HTML' , the first link on the returned list will be the one which counts the highest total occurences of these three terms. The second one will be the one which counts the second highest total occurences and so on.
