Bloodsword

Forged: Pharan dan Herot
Enchanted: Torm dal Raidan
Appearance: The bloodsword is a 3-1/2 foot blade, composed of an iron/antimony/mithril alloy. A simple crosspiece holds two silver baubles. The pommel is in the shape of a taloned hand grasping a translucent orb. The pommel is made of Ebony, and wrapped with rhino-hide. The sheath is also made of rhino-hide.

Type: +1 longsword
Special Abilities:
The sword has the ability to take upon itself a quest. With the proper ritual, it can be directed to kill a specific person/race/ religious member/etc. There are three oddities associated with the sword.
1) The silver baubles darken to black in proximity to the person/thing it is directed to kill. It lightens with increased distance.
2) The counterweight-orb glows a sickly blood-rust color that is more noticeable with every death before it's directed death.
3) The final death-blow to it's directed killing comes in the form of a phatasmal force that releases the shadows of those trapped within the orb. the souls act independantly to tear the victim apart, thus replacing their presence in the orb with the victim. only then can they gain release/death.
Creator: Jason W. Tice
Notes:

This blade was the heirloom of the Royal family of Kumolar (Elven Derivants on the Anadien world) It was used to destroy Gath the usurper once and for all. since his consumption, the sword has not been wielded again. Gath remains imprisoned by the orb. With the fall of the Kumolarian empire, the sword was lost. Its' whereabouts are currently unknown.
