Forged: Unknown
Enchanted: Unknown
Appearance: Trollslayer is a small disk (1" in diameter), with five
curved 5" protrusions with retractable blades. Each
protrusion has a scaly texture, and is somewhat similar in
appearance to a birds leg. The protrusions are light gold
and the center disk has a black hematite finish. The
retractable blades are very shiny (like chrome). The blades
are extended and withdrawn by applying pressure on the
hematite in a squeezing motion (like holding it and clenching
your whole fist around the weapon).
Type:
Special Abilities: Trollslayer is meant to be a throwing weapon. It is +5 to hit, and
it's path may be controlled to a great degree by the throwers
outstretched arm. Any damage inflicted by this weapon cannot heal.
Even if thrown softly, it spins at an incredible rate of speed,
allowing it to cut through many substances (the blades, despite their
appearance are constructed of adamantite)
If necessary, it may be used as a melee weapon, but at a severe
disadvantage; it loses its +5 bonus to hit (but will still affect
creatures only hit by magical weapons), and inflicts only 1d4 damage.
Likewise, this damage will not heal.
Normally, Trollslayer will inflict 5d4 of damage. If used against
regenerating creatures, it inflicts 4d6 damage.
Regenerating creatures will instinctively fear this weapon (save at -5
or flee in fear). This effect extends to a 15' radius (which makes it
hard to sneak up on regenerating creatures)
